Softball Recap: Sperry's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Sperry ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Skiatook Bulldogs, sneaking past 9-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kassidy Mauldin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mauldin was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Calli Webb was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Tessa Wolfe, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Sperry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Sperry's win bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Skiatook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.

As of now, neither Sperry nor Skiatook have any future games scheduled.
