Soccer Preview: Ceres vs. Central Valley
The Ceres Bulldogs will face off against the Central Valley Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ceres comes in on five and Central Valley on three.
Ceres' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Beyer by a score of 2-0. Two seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Central Valley got the win against Lathrop on Thursday by a conclusive 8-0. Considering the Hawks have won 12 matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Their offense was hitting Lathrop from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Ashley Juarez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.
Ceres pushed their record up to 11-6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three contests. As for Central Valley, their win bumped their record up to 19-2-1.
