Basketball Recap: Paso Robles Takes a Loss

Paso Robles was the 56-55 winner over Orcutt Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Paso Robles Bearcats took a blow against the Orcutt Academy Spartans on Wednesday, falling 75-39. The Bearcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-26.

Elizabeth Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Orcutt Academy, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 16 rebounds, and ten assists. Johnson has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 23 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Allen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Paso Robles' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8. As for Orcutt Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Paso Robles will head out to face off against Lompoc at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Orcutt Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Joseph at 5:30 p.m. Orcutt Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
