Soccer Game Preview: Southeast Whitfield County vs. Cass

Southeast Whitfield County is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out to challenge the Cass Colonels at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Southeast Whitfield County is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Douglass on Thursday as Southeast Whitfield County made off with an 11-1 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 11-1.

Southeast Whitfield County used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Douglass. And. Jonathan 'John' Garcia made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, Cass' and McEachern's game on Friday was close at halftime, but Cass turned on the heat in the second half with four goals. Cass blew past McEachern 6-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Colonels as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Southeast Whitfield County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four contests. As for Cass, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Southeast Whitfield County was able to grind out a solid win over Cass in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 2-0. Will Southeast Whitfield County repeat their success, or does Cass have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
