Baseball Game Preview: Walker Wolverines vs. Landmark Christian War Eagles

The Walker Wolverines will square off against the Landmark Christian War Eagles at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Walker and Whitefield Academy, and Whitefield Academy kept the tradition alive. Walker lost 9-2 to Whitefield Academy on Wednesday. The Wolverines' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Walker saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Griggs, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Landmark Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Weber School.

Walker's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Landmark Christian, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Walker took their victory against Landmark Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 14-4. Does Walker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Landmark Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
