Basketball Recap: High Point Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

High Point Baptist Academy lost against Linville Hill back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The High Point Baptist Academy Eagles were beaten by the Linville Hill Warriors 55-24. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.

Linville Hill had a senior duo take command as Desiree Smucker almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals and Ellie Rishel made all 6 shots she took racking up 13 points along with seven boards and three steals. That's the most steals Smucker has posted since back in January. Courtney Good was another key player, putting up nine points.

High Point Baptist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Linville Hill, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

When High Point Baptist Academy and Linville Hill next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. High Point Baptist Academy will try to stop Veritas Academy's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th. Similarly, Linville Hill will try to stop Conestoga Christian's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
