Monte Vista is 9-1 against Granada since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Monte Vista Mustangs will be playing at home against the Granada Matadors at 7:30 p.m.

Monte Vista is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Carondelet on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Monte Vista was outmatched by Carondelet and fell 76-29. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.

Despite the defeat, Monte Vista saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Naliyah Sefidi posted 20 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Granada, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They strolled past Foothill with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-31. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Matadors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Granada's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11. As for Monte Vista, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Monte Vista took their win against Granada in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 58-36. Does Monte Vista have another victory up their sleeve, or will Granada turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
