Soccer Game Preview: Franklin vs. Bear Creek

The Franklin Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Bear Creek Bruins at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Franklin was able to grind out a solid victory over Weston Ranch, taking the game 3-1. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Cougars are ranked 737th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bear Creek's offense. They fell just short of Edison by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Franklin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those nine matchups. As for Bear Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4-2.

Franklin beat Bear Creek by a goal in their previous matchup on January 7th, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
