Baseball Recap: Valdosta Takes a Loss

Valdosta was the 17-7 winner over Cairo when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Syrupmakers on Wednesday, falling 15-4. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.

Valdosta's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Cairo, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Valdosta Wildcats face off against Bainbridge Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bainbridge will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Valdosta surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cairo, they will head out on the road to challenge Chiles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Timberwolves' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Syrupmakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
