Softball Recap: Pierce Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pierce's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Ord Chanticleers as they made off with a 19-6 win. Considering the Bluejays have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Jessa Kraft was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Skrdla, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Pierce hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Pierce moved to 8-12 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. As for Ord, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Pierce didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 defeat against O'Neill on the 20th. As for Ord, they will head out on the road to challenge Central City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
