Soccer Game Preview: Franklin County vs. Greene County

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Franklin County face off against Greene County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Friday just wasn't the day for Franklin County's offense. They lost 7-0 to Hebron Christian on Friday. While losing is never fun, Franklin County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Hebron Christian is ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, Greene County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Lake Oconee Academy, falling 9-0.

Greene County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Franklin County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Franklin County beat Greene County 5-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Does Franklin County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greene County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
