Soccer Recap: Mainland Takes a Loss

Mainland lost against Spruce Creek back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mainland Buccaneers lost 7-0 to the Spruce Creek Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Hawks are ranked 105th).

Mainland has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Spruce Creek, their win bumped their record up to 9-4-2.

Mainland will square off against DeLand at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Spruce Creek, they will take on Seabreeze at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Spruce Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.
