Basketball Recap: Vaux Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Vaux kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Simon Gratz Bulldogs, falling 40-20.

Zakkiyah Lucas was nothing short of spectacular for Simon Gratz: she posted 22 points. The contest was Lucas' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alana Wilkerson, who put up seven points.

Simon Gratz now has a winning record of 2-1.

Vaux does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Simon Gratz has also already played their next game, a 44-15 win against Sankofa Freedom Academy on the 16th.
