Basketball Game Preview: Nordhoff Rangers vs. Parlier Panthers

The Nordhoff Rangers will take on the Parlier Panthers in a tournament on Thursday.

Nordhoff is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Simi Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to the Pioneers at home by a 60-46 margin.

Nordhoff might have lost, but man, Cadence Renshaw was a machine: she went 10 of 22 on her way to 22 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Crystal Ramirez, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Parlier waltzed into their matchup two weeks ago with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 48-39 win over the Wildcats. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 816th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Parlier's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Nordhoff, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
