Basketball Recap: Bo Caskey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Norfolk over Scottsbluff

Norfolk lost against Scottsbluff back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The game between the Panthers and the Bearcats didn't end well, with the Panthers falling 61-44.

Norfolk lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bo Caskey, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. Harper Fossum was another key player, putting up five points.

Leading Scottsbluff to victory were Chesney Joplin and Ava Reed. Joplin went 6-for-8 en route to 15 points and three steals, while Reed shot 41% from the field on her way to 18 points in addition to six boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Finnley Martin, who put up three points along with six assists, six rebounds, and four steals.

Norfolk's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Scottsbluff, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Norfolk will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Marian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scottsbluff, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
