Meanwhile, Hot Springs came up short against Socorro on Saturday, falling 6-1. Hot Springs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Hot Springs' loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Hatch Valley, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-9.

Everything went Hatch Valley's way against Hot Springs in their previous meeting back in September, as Hatch Valley made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
