Softball Recap: Pueblo East Eagles vs. Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs

Pueblo East had lost six straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 11-12 to make it seven. They came up short against the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 back in September.

As for Pueblo Centennial, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Pueblo Centennial's part, Ellie Zinanti made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Zinanti has posted since back in August. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Kayli Smiley and Marissa Fisher did most of the damage at the plate: Smiley went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Fisher went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI were Fisher's first of the season. Adrianna Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
