Softball Recap: Battle Mountain Huskies vs. Centaurus Warriors

Battle Mountain had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 5-4 to make it six. They lost 13-1 to the Centaurus Warriors. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Battle Mountain saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hallie Holleman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Centaurus, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

On Centaurus' side, Charlotte Crim was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Crim has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Battle Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 20-14 loss against Adams City on the 13th. As for Centaurus, they have also already played their next game, an 18-2 win against Peak to Peak on the 15th.
