Recap: Cambria Heights Highlanders vs. Penns Manor Comets
The Cambria Heights Highlanders lost against the Penns Manor Comets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Cambria Heights took a 45-29 bruising from Penns Manor. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cambria Heights has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Cambria Heights still got an impressive performance from Sienna Kirsch, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. That was a full 34.5% of Cambria Heights' points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gracey Vinglish, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks.
Cambria Heights now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Penns Manor, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.
Cambria Heights will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against River Valley at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday. As for Penns Manor, they will head out on the road to challenge Northern Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Northern Cambria will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Penns Manor is ranked 100th).
