Basketball Recap: Strathmore Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Strathmore won the last time they faced Farmersville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Strathmore Spartans came out on top against the Farmersville Aztecs by a score of 48-39. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Farmersville still got an impressive performance from Janessa Garza, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds gave Garza a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karlene Veleta, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Strathmore's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5. As for Farmersville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Strathmore didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-31 defeat against Tulare Union on the 10th. As for Farmersville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-39 loss against Parlier on the 11th.
