Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for David Emanuel Academy

David Emanuel Academy hadn't done well against Edmund Burke Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 7-3. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 13-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Rayleigh Faircloth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Kaley Flowers and Bailey McNure did most of the damage at the plate: Flowers went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI, while McNure went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Payton Peebles was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

David Emanuel Academy's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Edmund Burke Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games.
