Football Recap: Poteet Takes a Loss

If Poteet was riding high fresh off their 53-28 takedown of Wilson last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Poteet came up short against Crandall on Thursday, falling 56-33. Poteet hasn't had much luck with Crandall recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crandall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Vanlandingham, who rushed for 83 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also threw for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Darrik Ward Jr. was another key rusher, rushing for 150 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries.

Poteet's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Crandall, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Poteet wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-35 victory against Greenville on the 26th. As for Crandall, they have also already played their next matchup, a 38-30 win against Corsicana on the 26th.
