Soccer Game Preview: Highland vs. Washington

Highland hasn't had much luck against Washington recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Huskies will square off against the Demons at 6:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Tuesday, Highland didn't have quite enough to beat Keota and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Highland have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Washington didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Madison on Thursday and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Washington in their meetings with Fort Madison: they've now lost three in a row.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Washington, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Highland beat Washington by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
