Soccer Game Preview: Le Mars vs. Bishop Heelan Catholic

The Le Mars Bulldogs will face off against the Bishop Heelan Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Le Mars will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Le Mars proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by four) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out MOC-Floyd Valley 4-3. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Le Mars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while MOC-Floyd Valley are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Bishop Heelan Catholic was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gilbert.

Le Mars' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five games. As for Bishop Heelan Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-2.

Le Mars might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Bishop Heelan Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
