Softball Recap: Bishop Neumann Triumphs

It's playoff time, and Bishop Neumann had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out NEN 5-4 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with NEN: they've now won eight in a row.

Addison Sylliaasen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isabelle Stuhr was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abby Furasek, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bishop Neumann's victory bumped their record up to 24-8. As for NEN, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-11.

Bishop Neumann has already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Kearney Catholic on the 15th. As for NEN, they will square off against Central City at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. NEN's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bison have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
