League recap: Jacobs overpowering for Coahulla Creek in past week

5A-AAA league recap: 4/3/13

Braiden Jacobs was the best pitcher in 5A-AAA this week, leading Coahulla Creek. He retired five batters this week.

Top honors in the league this week go to North Murray, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Mountaineers beat Gordon Central 9-2, the Colts 3-0 and Sonoraville 3-2.

Coahulla Creek's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 23 hits and three walks, both of which led the league.

The Colts' Tucker Sheram racked up four RBIs this week, more than any other hitter. For the year, he has racked up five RBIs, good for third in the league.

Coahulla Creek's Jacobs led the league in strikeouts this week with five. With 16 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.



Zack Glines threw a no-hitter this week in the Colts' 8-0 victory over the Warriors.

Sheram was an RBI machine on Tuesday, as he knocked in four runs during Coahulla Creek's 8-0 win over Gordon Central. He went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
