Baseball Recap: Augusta Christian Victorious

Augusta Christian's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Augusta E Eagles by a score of 8-5. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Ethan Duckworth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Duckworth was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Luke Spivey was a standout: he scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Jordan Sease was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Augusta Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Augusta E only posted an OBP of .375.

Augusta Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Augusta E, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Augusta Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Augusta E, they will venture away from home to take on Coastal HomeSchool at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. This will be Augusta E's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
