Softball Recap: Hardaway Wins Going Away Against Manchester

Hardaway won the last time they faced Manchester and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hawks blew past the Blue Devils 20-10. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by exactly ten runs.

Naryah Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. Wilson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Hardaway got a massive performance out of Daisia Crutchfield, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Crutchfield has posted since back in September of 2024. Neeraja Thomas was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Hardaway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .794. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .538 that Manchester posted.

Hardaway has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 19.0 runs this season. As for Manchester, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardaway will head out to challenge Westover at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Manchester, they will venture away from home to square off against Brookstone at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
