Soccer Recap: Rockmart Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Rockmart's offense. They came up short against the Union County Panthers on Friday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Rockmart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 408th, while Union County are ranked 193rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Rockmart and nudges their season record down to 2-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-2 Coahulla Creek (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 69% over those games). As for Union County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Rockmart will square off against McEachern at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockmart will be up against McEachern's rather soft defense (which has allowed three goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Union County, they will challenge Coahulla Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
