Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Northgate Broncos

Mt. Diablo hasn't had much luck against Northgate recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Broncos at 6:30 p.m. Northgate took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mt. Diablo, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Mt. Diablo strolled past Newark Memorial with points to spare, taking the game 50-35. That looming 50-35 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Red Devils yet this season.

Meanwhile, Northgate suffered their biggest loss since February 14, 2025 on Thursday. They lost 65-40 to Acalanes. The defeat continues a trend for the Broncos in their meetings with the Dons: they've now lost nine in a row.

Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Mt. Diablo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9.

Mt. Diablo came up short against Northgate when the teams last played back in February of 2025, falling 42-37. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
