Basketball Recap: Vistamar Takes a Loss

Vistamar won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They were dealt a 48-19 defeat at the hands of the Geffen Academy Bruins. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Ciahna M had an outrageously good game for Geffen Academy as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. M is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

Vistamar's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Geffen Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Vistamar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-31 defeat against Marymount on the 13th. As for Geffen Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rolling Hills Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
