Baseball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

After flying high against Licking Heights on Monday, Lincoln came back down to earth. The Lions took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grove City Greyhounds on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost three in a row.

Lincoln got a good showing from Liam Bradley, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bradley has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cam Lawrence made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Grove City, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-9.

Coming up, Lincoln will face off against Hilliard Bradley at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Jaguars have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Grove City, they will head out on the road to challenge Pickerington Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
