Soccer Game Preview: Las Plumas vs. Red Bluff

The Las Plumas Thunderbirds will head out to square off against the Red Bluff Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Las Plumas has four straight victories, Red Bluff has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Las Plumas is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Gridley with a sharp 8-1 win on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Las Plumas considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Their offense was hitting Gridley from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Gabriella Robertson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Red Bluff fell victim to Pleasant Valley and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 5-0 to the Vikings. While losing is never fun, Red Bluff can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 481st, while Pleasant Valley are ranked 168th).

Red Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7-4. As for Las Plumas, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4-3.
