Basketball Recap: Meyersdale Red Raiders vs. North Star Cougars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blacklick Valley, the Meyersdale Red Raiders were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against North Star by a score of 37-29. This was payback for Meyersdale, who suffered a 54-46 loss the last time these two teams met.
Meyersdale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maci Moore led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Hainsworth, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meyersdale's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for North Star, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Meyersdale will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. North Star is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for they, they will head out on the road to challenge Meyersdale at 6:00 p.m.
