Football Recap: Trevon Darden's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Perry Meridian over Whiteland

Perry Meridian lost against Whiteland back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons came up short against the Warriors, falling 50-28. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.

Perry Meridian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevon Darden, who picked up 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Darden's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Schoch, who threw for 311 yards and three TDs while picking up 15.6 yards per attempt.

The critical scores for Whiteland came from Jordan Palmer, Braydon Yates, Eli Taylor, Peyton Williams, Jonah Upchurch, Kaiden Lee, and Leydji Frederic.

This is the second loss in a row for Perry Meridian and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Whiteland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
