Softball Recap: Omaha South Wins Going Away Against Omaha North

Omaha South and Omaha North faced off in a cross-town battle on Thursday. The Packers were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Vikings. The Packers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 27, 2024 (when they won 18-5).

Jocelyn Cabellos made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vivian Hodoly, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Maiya Meeker also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
