Ledyard proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bacon Academy Bobcats, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Colonels have posted against the Bobcats since May 14, 2022.

Ayden Quilter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jack Leaf was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Ledyard's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Bacon Academy, they moved to 11-8-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Ledyard and Bacon Academy will both be playing Stonington the next time they take the field. The Colonels will head out to face the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bobcats will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
