Basketball Recap: University Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

University had lost four straight headed into Tuesday's matchup, but Julia Holmes didn't let it get to five. The University Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Northwood Timberwolves 44-41 thanks in part to Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 boards. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high.

University's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14. As for Northwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will square off against Irvine at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Laguna Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
