Football Recap: Olathe Northwest Falls to Shawnee Mission East in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Olathe Northwest kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Shawnee Mission East Lancers by a score of 31-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Ravens have suffered since September 6, 2024.

Despite the loss, Olathe Northwest still got an impressive performance from Bryce Randall, who rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

Jack Reeves had a dynamite game For Shawnee Mission East., rushing for 183 yards and one score while picking up 11.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 106 yards and one TD on only ten passes. That's the most rushing yards Reeves has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Thomas Vanice, who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Olathe Northwest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 34-7 victory against Garden City on the 12th. As for Shawnee Mission East, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-21 win against Seaman on the 12th.
