Basketball Recap: Abbie Mcgaughey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sayre over Wellsboro

Sayre lost against Wellsboro back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Sayre Redskins received a blow as they fell 45-28 to the Wellsboro Hornets. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sayre's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbie McGaughey, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rylee Lantz, who had no points in addition to seven rebounds, four steals, and four blocks.

Sayre's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wellsboro, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Sayre will head out to challenge Wyalusing Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wellsboro, they will welcome Williamson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
