Football Recap: Mulvane Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Mulvane had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 52-point drubbing they dealt El Dorado on Friday. Mulvane's defense stepped up to hand El Dorado a 52-0 shutout. Mulvane's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

A big part of Mulvane's win came down to the chemistry between Manny Myers and his top target Grady Myers. Manny rushed for 31 yards and one score while Grady rushed for 85 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. The dominant performance also gave Manny a new career-high in passer rating (146.1).

Mulvane was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Mulvane didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hagen Warkins, Tysen Rhodes, and Kane Cuthbertson picked up one apiece. Warkins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mulvane's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for El Dorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, Mulvane will face off against McPherson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Bullpups' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for El Dorado, they will square off against Buhler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
