Football Recap: Cambridge Takes Down Ola in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

Cambridge had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Ola Mustangs 24-21. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly three points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cambridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Langford, who threw for 203 yards and three TDs while completing 72.4% of his passes. A healthy portion of Langford's aerial production (123 yards to be exact) went to Drew Hardwick, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Worley, who threw for 194 yards and one touchdown on only 16 passes. Worley's passing game has become a key predictor of Ola's success: the team is 7-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Timothy Clark was Worley's top target, picking up 93 receiving yards and one score.

Cambridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Ola, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3.

Coming up, Cambridge will challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them. Ola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
