Basketball Recap: Yuba City Triumphs

Yuba City won the last time they faced Nevada Union, and Cythlali Cortez did her part to make sure it happened again. In a tight match that could have gone either way, the Yuba City Honkers made off with a 28-27 win over the Nevada Union Miners thanks in part to Cortez, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Nevada Union lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Elle Conway, who put up six points.

Yuba City's victory bumped their record up to 6-19. As for Nevada Union, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

As of now, neither Yuba City nor Nevada Union have any future games scheduled.
