Softball Recap: Mountain Range Takes a Loss

Mountain Range came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to the Severance Silver Knights. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mountain Range saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Salazar Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Salazar Rodriguez has hit this season.

Mountain Range's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Severance, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Range will welcome Westminster at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Mustangs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Severance, they will be playing at home against Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountain Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.43 runs per game on average), something the Silver Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
