High school football: Illinois quarterback-wide receiver combo among this week's Stat Freaks

Lucas Dyer of Mahomet-Seymour threw for nearly 600 yards and eight touchdowns with five of those going to top target Trey Peters.

High school football is underway and stats were piling up in a big way over the weekend.

In Illinois, Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet) beat Morton 69-37 thanks in part to the efforts of quarterback Lucas Dyer and wide receiver Trey Peters. Dyer connected on 26 of 33 attempts for 593 yards and eight touchdowns. Five of the scoring strikes went to Peters, who finished with 11 receptions for 344 yards.

In Florida, Jordan Durham and Terrell Brant had a similar day for Zarephath Academy (Jacksonville, Fla.). Durham threw for 523 yards and four scores in the win. All four of those touchdowns went to Brant, who finished with 279 receiving yards.
