Softball Recap: Freeman Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

Freeman was handed an eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Fort Calhoun Pioneers 4-2.

Sydney Lenners was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Lenners wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Haner, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Freeman is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-12 record this season. As for Fort Calhoun, they moved to 19-6 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Freeman beat the Pioneers by a score of 9-6 later that day.
