Baseball Game Preview: Southwick Regional Rams vs. Gateway Regional Gators

The Southwick Regional Rams will venture away from home to take on the Gateway Regional Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday, Southwick Regional didn't have quite enough to beat Northampton and fell 7-6.

James Burniske was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Gateway Regional put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Amherst-Pelham Regional. Considering the Gators have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Southwick Regional dropped their record down to 3-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Gateway Regional, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Southwick Regional got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2017 against Gateway Regional by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
