There's no place like home for San Ysidro, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Eastlake Titans on Wednesday. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Carlos Gomez tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Axel Reyes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Armann Robles, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

San Ysidro has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eastlake, they moved to 10-7-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
