Preview: Sonora Wildcats vs. Summerville Bears
Sonora is 10-0 against Summerville since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sonora Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Summerville Bears at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Sonora was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-33 to Calaveras. Sonora has struggled against Calaveras recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Summerville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 51-33 bruising from Argonaut.
Sonora has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Summerville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-9.
Sonora was able to grind out a solid win over Summerville in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 44-31. Will Sonora repeat their success, or does Summerville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
