No. 21 Massillon Washington adds another quality win with 28-7 victory against St. John's.

No. 21 Washington (Massillon, Ohio) improved to 7-0 with a 28-7 win over St. John's (Washington, D.C.) in a game that was called with 6:45 remaining at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. Both head coaches agreed to call the game after the Cadets quarterback Isaiah French took a big hit on a run. It was the 10th straight win for the Tigers against out-of-state competition.

Massillon Washington's starting quarterback DaOne Owens returned after missing last week's 41-7 win over Middletown (Del.) as the OHSAA was working through his transfer application. He was ruled eligible hours before kickoff and accounted for two touchdowns. After St. John's scored the first touchdown of the night, the Tigers answered with 28 consecutive points.

No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) had no problem with Servite (Anaheim) in its Trinity League opener. The Monarchs cruised to a 49-0 win to improve to 6-0. Senior Elijah Brown threw for five touchdowns and is now 35-1 as the starting quarterback. He has thrown for 21 touchdowns and the Monarchs still have not trailed at any point this season. Mater Dei hosts JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano) next Friday before a huge showdown at No. 9 St. John Bosco (Bellflower).

The Braves dominated in their Trinity League opener with a 42-7 win over Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita). They host Servite (Anaheim) next Friday.

No. 22 American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) bounced back in a big way after suffering its first loss of the season against No. 3 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.) with a 48-7 win against Cardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale). They dominated on both phases and improved to 3-1.

Willie Gaston has led No. 7 North Shore (Houston) to a 5-0 start as the new head coach of the Mustangs. They handed King (Houston) its first loss of the season with a 42-6 win. The Houston power has outscored the opposition 227-39.
